The World Tourism Network  UNWTO advocacy campaign for transparency and fairness in the election process for the UNWTO Secretary-General, launched initially with Dr. Taleb Rifai, the former SG of UNWTO in 2020, has a message for all UN Member States represented. WTN is requesting the 33 members of the executive council, who are meeting in Colombia this week, to watch out for clarity and transparency when voting to approve the proposed rules and changes in the voting process for the next UN Tourism Secretary General. WTN identified five possible manipulations that are making it harder for anyone competing with Zurab Pololikashvili in the upcoming election process to succeed.
