United Airlines today announced the incorporation of Apple‘s new Share Item Location feature for AirTag into its mobile application. This enhancement is anticipated to significantly improve the customer service experience for the less than 1% of travelers whose luggage arrives on a subsequent flight.
With the release of iOS 18.2, the Share Item Location feature allows United customers who possess an AirTag or a Find My network accessory to privately and securely share the location of their accessory with the airline’s customer service team. This capability aims to assist in the swift recovery of luggage that may be mishandled.
United provides all travelers with the option to monitor their baggage directly through the United app, ensuring peace of mind throughout their journey. Customers can now create a Share Item Location link via the Find My app on their iPhone, iPad, or Mac for an AirTag or Find My network accessory, facilitating a more efficient and secure process for locating misplaced items.
