Emirates, one of the two main airlines of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has announced an extension to the suspension of flights between Dubai and Beirut due to recent updates in Lebanon. The airline has stated that air service to Beirut will remain suspended until at least Tuesday, October 8, while closely monitoring the regional situation.
“We are in constant contact with the relevant authorities and continue to monitor the situation in Lebanon,” the airline representative added.
For now, airline passengers traveling through Dubai with Beirut as their final destination will not be permitted to board at their point of origin.
Simultaneously, Dubai Aviation Corporation, doing business as flydubai – an Emirati government-owned low-cost airline based in Dubai, has also announced the cancellation of its flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Beirut International Airport (BEY) for the period from September 24 to October 1.
Airline representative stated that the carrier is monitoring the situation closely and will modify its flight schedules as needed.
The second major UAE carrier, Etihad Airways, has also announced that it has halted its operations to and from Beirut until October 3 in response to the escalating problems in the region.
According to the airlines, travelers holding reservations on the impacted flights will be reached out to by their respective carriers regarding rebooking or refund options. Passengers are also strongly encouraged to verify the most current flight details directly with their airlines.
