At the 1865-set up of the California Academy of Sciences (CAS), this 10-year-old green building is a big attraction and student groups going to see the place is also increasing. Many who have been to NASA now want to see this academy, explained Jun Watanabe, Associate Director of CAS.

Veena Robinson, Vice President of Sales for 7M Tours, has seen a boost from 800 to 2,600 taking tours of the Kennedy Center. The company will soon be adding the West Coast to its 2019 itinerary.

Philadelphia, known for its history, heritage, and culture, received 53,000 Indians in 2017, next to Germany’s 59,000, said Jim DePhilippo, Tourism Sales Manager of the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau, who went on to say that tax free shopping is another draw. Next year a new fashion city will be coming up at this destination.

Teri Laursen, Director of Sales and Industry Partners for Travel Nevada, said the region continues to be popular along with Las Vegas and other entertainment attractions.

California has seen healthy growth from India, and by 2023, a 43 percent increase is expected, said Anette Kaiser-Rott, Director of Marketing-Europe and India for Visit California. The big news was that the damaged San Francisco-Los Angeles road has been repaired and restored.

Kelly Sawyer, International Market Manager of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, said the celebrity status, new attractions, museums, and culinary offerings and entertainment continues to draw travelers to the city. In 2017, there were 46,000 Indian tourists that visited Las Vegas.

Hornblower cruises are being used for incentives and also for leisure, said Estelle Miller, Director of Tourism Development, adding that the three-hour dinner cruise, with vegetarian meals, is popular with Indians.
