The Ageless Traveler Wins the 2024 JourneyWoman Solo Travel Wisdom Award.

Adriane Berg, who launched the Ageless Tourism Interest Group for the World Tourism Network with Ageless Traveler, is one of three proud JourneyWoman Solo Travel Wisdom Award winners.

Adriane is joining a prestigious group of award-winning leaders in the travel community for mature travelers.

In an exciting win for the mature travel community, The Ageless Traveler media platform has received this prestigious Award at the 30th Anniversary of the JourneyWoman event. The award celebrates outstanding achievements by women over 50 who champion solo travel and empower others to do the same.

Adriane Berg, the creator and host of The Ageless Traveler, its podcast and YouTube channel, both dedicated to 60+ travelers, accepted the award.

This year’s finalists, all nominated by JourneyWoman readers and evaluated by the Women’s Advisory Council and notable experts, showcased a commitment to generosity in sharing travel wisdom, fostering transformation, and challenging the status quo of travel norms. Nominees for the Wisdom Award included Elaine Lee of UGoGurl, Jan from Butterfly Tracks, and winner Adriane Berg of  The Ageless Traveler.

“These trailblazing women over 50 are making travel meaningful,” said Carolyn Ray, CEO of JourneyWoman. “Our readers and community are proud to honor their achievements, showcasing the best of women-owned travel platforms that promote safer, more inclusive, and purpose-driven travel experiences.”

Adriane Berg empowers the 60+ community to embark on enriching, life-affirming journeys. Now 76 years old and a New York Times Age-Boom Fellow, Adriane has visited 121 countries and created an engaging hub that advocates for the unique travel needs of mature adults. Her podcast and blog cover topics like solo travel, grandparent travel, and the challenges of caregiving, with specialized advice on mobility, cognitive impairments, and financial barriers to travel.

Also the creator of Generation Bold: The Fountain of Truth About Aging and host of the United Nations podcast On the Ground, Adriane speaks passionately about the possibilities for vibrant, transformative travel later in life.

With The World Tourism Network, she’s also launching the first Age-Friendly and Inter-Generation Recognition Program for the tourism industry, Ageless Tourism,  dedicated to enhancing travel inclusivity for all ages.

The Ageless Traveler exemplifies Adriane’s commitment to reshaping perceptions of aging and showing that adventure and connection know no age limits. For example, The Ageless Traveler has cultivated a vibrant, supportive community on Facebook, affectionately named “The Salon,” where members enjoy the freedom to connect, share experiences, and discuss the many rewards of lifelong travel.

Adriane Berg and her team have identified vital barriers older adults face, such as caregiving responsibilities and financial constraints.

To help travelers overcome these challenges, they have published two valuable eBooks, both free to the public. The Caregivers Travel Guide is designed to support caregivers taking respite trips or traveling with their care recipients, recognizing that caregiving responsibilities can often postpone travel plans.

Meanwhile, Luxury Travel for Less addresses financial concerns after retirement, offering strategies for enjoying luxurious trips without breaking the bank.

These resources reflect The Ageless Traveler’s commitment to supporting older adults in leading fulfilling, travel-rich lives and ensuring that age is not a barrier to the joys of exploration.

World Tourism Network Chairman Juergen Steinmetz congratulated Adriane, saying, “All of us at the World Tourism Network are so proud to have you brought Ageless Tourism into a focus for our young organization. Congratulations!”
