As Sydney prepares to host Coldplay’s highly anticipated Music of the Spheres Tour concerts at Accor Stadium next week, hotels across Greater Sydney are experiencing a surge in bookings.
Booking demand across Sydney hotels has risen by 18% (10.7 occupancy points) over the concert dates compared to last year. Â
Over the four concerts at Accor Stadium between 6-10 November, Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres Tour is set to captivate an audience of more than 300,000 fans and recently made history as the highest-grossing rock tour ever. It became the first rock tour – and only the second after Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour – to surpass $1 billion in revenue.Â
Data reveals that fans are booking further in advance to secure their preferred accommodation. On average, bookings were made 90 days in advance, marking a 140% increase from the previous year.
Similar to Sydney, hotels in Melbourne and Auckland have experienced a significant increase in bookings over Coldplay’s concert dates. Melbourne hotels are currently holding 5% more bookings (+2.9 occupancy points) over the concert dates, with Auckland seeing an increase of more than 14% (+9.2 occupancy points), when compared to the previous year.
