Amenities galore and room service versus privacy and destination immersed accommodations. Which do you think Brits prefer?

New data shows that short-term rental (STR) business has grown 16 times faster in the UK in the last decade, reflecting the changing priorities of travelers seeking experience-led accommodation.

UK hotels are scrambling to determine how to combat the rising demand for Short Term Rentals (STRs) as travelers book the latter with much more gusto.

Staycations are also on the rise with a third of Brits predicted to holiday in the UK this year. Top of their checklist includes that the property be environmentally friendly with more space, privacy, and practical amenities.

Also on the rise are reservations for UK campgrounds. It seems travelers want more of an authentic experience while they are on holiday.

Authentic travel appeals to those who want a more enriching, thoughtful, and responsible travel experience. It could be as simple as enjoying life without work in an inspiring and new location – cooking together, going for dips in the pool. Or it could be in a destination brimming with cultural experiences and the chance to connect with people. Think NOT commercial.

In today’s hectic and demanding world, more and more travelers are desiring what is being called slow travel where more time is spent in a single location to gain a deeper understanding of the local lifestyle, instead of rushing from one tourist hotspot to another. Travel is respectful and sustainable, and holidayers enjoy local festivals, family dining spots, and craft fairs.
