Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers appoints senior management

Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers, the longest operating Sheraton hotel in Asia Pacific, is pleased to announce the appointment of Allwyn D’souza, Joyce Wong and Bernard Kam, the hotel’s new Resident Manager, Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Human Resources, with immediate effect.

Commenting on the appointments, Charles Woo, Managing Director of Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers said, “Allwyn, Joyce and Bernard are seasoned hoteliers. With their solid experiences in the hospitality industry, we are confident that their exceptional insights will strengthen the teams and take the hotel to even greater heights.”

Recipient of the Rooms Leader of the Year for Marriott Intl Asia Pacific 2014 and the finalist of the Rooms Hotelier of the year Asia 2017 in BMW Hotelier Awards, Allwyn brings with him 17-year of hotel operations and guest relations experience across four Marriott hotel brands – Marriott, Renaissance, Courtyard and Marriott Executive Apartments in Asia Pacific regions including Fiji, Malaysia, India and Singapore.

Before joining Sheraton, Allwyn was the Director of Room Operation at Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel. On his new appointment, he will lead and guide the hotel’s operations division.

Joyce Wong joins Sheraton from her most recent role as Director of Marketing at Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel. Heralding over 20-year experience across the notable brands, with impressive background and proven leadership abilities, she brings along a wealth of experience in driving sales and MICE business from previous appointments at Inter-Continental, Mandarin Oriental, Island Shangri-La, The Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott in Hong Kong and mainland China.

“Perfectly positioned at the top of Kowloon’s legendary Golden mile with Victoria Harbour frontage, Sheraton has long been recognized as the pioneer of offering effortless experience and smart stays to the guests from various destinations,” said Joyce, “I am pleased and honoured to be part of the hotel and looking forward to the exciting possibilities and excellent potential ahead.”

In her new role, Joyce will oversee the Sales and Marketing division of this 782-room hotel with 15 event and conference spaces, encompasses proactive sales, event booking, marketing communications and reservations teams.

Experience in the full range of human resources area including talent attraction & retention, performance management and development, organization design, merger and integrations, Bernard Kam, the newly-appointed Director of Human Resources, is responsible for leading the human resource strategies, programmes, trainings and performances for a total of 630 associates and managers in the hotel.

“People are our most valuable assets. A series of innovative and people-focused programs are set in assisting our colleagues to develop their talents and career as well as maintaining Sheraton’s inspired and committed culture,” said Bernard.

Prior to joining Sheraton, Bernard held several senior positions over his 25-year hospitality journey including Renaissance Harbour View Hotel, Mandarin Oriental, The American Club, and the recent role as Group Director of Human Resources at Marco Polo Hotels and Plaza Premium Group.
