Porter Airlines’ Flight Dispatchers have officially applied to become members of the Canadian Airline Dispatchers Association (CALDA).
On July 24, 2024, a submission was filed with the Canadian Industrial Relation Board, officially integrating Dispatchers at Porter Airlines into the union that represents Flight Dispatchers at most Canadian Airlines in the country.
Flight dispatchers at Porter Airlines will now become members of the union that also represents seven other Canadian airlines, namely Air Canada, Jazz, Canadian North (previously known as First Air), Air Transat, Sunwing, WestJet, and Provincial Airlines.
CALDA‘s main duty as Transport Canada certified Flight Dispatchers is to guarantee that airline flight operations adhere to or surpass government regulations.
Rob King, President of CALDA, expresses his excitement in welcoming Porter as the newest member of the organization. He eagerly anticipates advocating for their best interests and ensuring that they receive the fair and equitable treatment they deserve.
