In July 2024, the number of non-US citizen air passengers arriving in the United States from international destinations reached 5.518 million.

According to the latest data released by National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO), the number of passenger enplanements for US-international air traffic reached 26.729 million in July 2024. This figure represents a 7.3% increase compared to July 2023 and corresponds to 105.7% of the enplanement volume recorded in July 2019, prior to the pandemic.

In July 2024, the number of non-US citizen air passengers arriving in the United States from international destinations reached 5.518 million, marking an increase of 8.3% from July 2023.

This figure accounts for 91.1% of the air travel volume recorded in July 2019, prior to the pandemic.

In a related context, the number of overseas visitor arrivals reached 3.425 million in July 2024, marking the thirty-third consecutive month in which these arrivals surpassed 1.0 million. The total for July represented 85.6% of the visitor volume recorded in July 2019, prior to the pandemic, an increase from 83.3% in June 2024.

In July 2024, the number of air passengers who are US citizens departing from the United States to international destinations reached 7.642 million, reflecting an increase of 6.6% in comparison to July 2023.

This figure also surpassed the volume recorded in July 2019 by 18.3%.

The total volume of air passenger travel, encompassing both arrivals and departures, between the United States and various international destinations was dominated by Mexico with 3.783 million passengers, followed by Canada with 3.267 million, the United Kingdom with 2.198 million, Germany with 1.190 million, and the Dominican Republic with 1.188 million.

Europe recorded a total of 8.495 million passengers, reflecting an increase of 6.8% from July 2023 and a rise of 2.9% compared to July 2019. Notably, departures of U.S. citizens increased by 16.9% in comparison to July 2019, whereas arrivals of European citizens decreased by 15%.

In South and Central America, as well as the Caribbean, the total number of passengers reached 6.410 million, marking a 5.9% increase from July 2023 and a 15% increase relative to July 2019.

Asia saw a total of 2.701 million passengers, which is an increase of 16.6% from July 2023, although this figure represents a decline of 21.7% compared to July 2019. Additionally, arrivals of Asian citizens to the U.S. decreased by 36% compared to July 2019, while departures of U.S. citizens saw a slight increase of 0.5%.

The leading U.S. ports facilitating international travel included New York (JFK) with 3.719 million passengers, Los Angeles (LAX) with 2.401 million, Miami (MIA) with 2.316 million, San Francisco (SFO) with 1.637 million, and Newark (EWR) with 1.612 million passengers.

The leading foreign airports catering to U.S. destinations included London Heathrow (LHR) with 1.804 million passengers, Toronto (YYZ) with 1.206 million, Cancun (CUN) with 1.138 million, Paris (CDG) with 929,000, and Mexico City (MEX) with 845,000 passengers.
