New Train Connections for Travelers in Italy

The FS Italian Tourist Trains announced new connections between Rome and the towns of Alba and Assisi on the Langhe-Monferrato Express and the Assisi Express which are scheduled to begin running from October 2024.

The new autumn connections of FS Italian Tourist Trains, a company of the FS (the Italian Railway System)  Italian Group, will operate from the Roma Ostiense Railway station via the Langhe-Monferrato Express and the Assisi Express.

The presentation event was attended by Tommaso Tanzilli, President of Gruppo FS Italiane; Alessandro Vannini Scatoli, President of FS Treni Turistici Italiani; Alberto Gatto, Mayor of Alba; Enrico Melasecche Germini, Councilor for Transport of the Umbria Region; Paola Agabiti, Councilor for Tourism and Culture of the Umbria Region; Claudia Porchietto, Undersecretary of the Piedmont Region; and Fabrizio Ghera, Councilor for Transport of the Lazio Region.

The two autumn trains of FS TTI were created with the aim of offering a new way of traveling that combines slow, sustainable, quality tourism with the beauty of train travel aboard carriages completely restyled to ensure maximum comfort to destinations of high historical, landscape, and food and wine value.

The Espresso Assisi will travel on Saturday and Sunday from October 5 to December 1 and from Rome Termini station to Assisi with stops in Terni, Spoleto, Foligno, and Spello. On Saturdays, departure is scheduled for 10:05 and return at 18:00, while on Sundays it departs at 8:30 and returns at 16:58.

Departures from Rome Termini are scheduled for October 25 and 31 at 19:57, arriving at their destination at 10:35. The return to Rome is scheduled for October 27 and November 3 at 18:55, arriving in the capital at 6:33.

On the Assisi Espresso, travelers can sit in comfortable private lounges, while on the Langhe-Monferrato night Espresso, sleeping carriages are available where passengers can rest in a refined environment and with maximum privacy.

Also in October, by choosing the “TTI Special” rate, tourists can benefit from a 50% discount on all tickets purchased within 48 hours of departure.

Tickets for travel on the Espresso Assisi and the Espresso Langhe-Monferrato can be purchased on the website and on all Trenitalia sales channels, apps, station ticket offices, and via self-service.
