Travel agents connected to Sabre can now initiate activation requests to shop, book, and manage TAP Air Portugal’s NDC offerings.

Air Portugal and Sabre Corporation have today revealed an enhanced distribution agreement. Travel agents connected to Sabre can now begin submitting activation requests for NDC offers. Upon activation, they will be able to book TAP Air Portugal’s developing NDC offers in conjunction with the airline’s conventional EDIFACT content.

TAP Air Portugal is pleased to enhance its partnership with Sabre to offer customers a streamlined and contemporary booking experience, stated Justin Jovignot, Director of Distribution and Commercial Strategy at TAP Air Portugal.

“The extensive network provided by Sabre presents a significant opportunity to make our NDC content accessible to travel agents and travelers worldwide. We acknowledge the crucial role that travel agents play in our achievements, and we are committed to providing them with the necessary tools to deliver outstanding service.”

Travel agents connected to Sabre can now initiate activation requests to shop, book, and manage TAP Air Portugal’s NDC offerings. These offerings will be available alongside traditional content within Sabre’s travel marketplace, enabling agents to present a diverse array of options to their clients. Agents will have access to this content through Sabre’s Offer and Order APIs, the agency point-of-sale solution, Sabre Red 360, and the corporate booking tool, GetThere.

“Sabre’s travel marketplace effectively integrates a broad spectrum of offers from both traditional and innovative sources, including NDC,” remarked Alessandro Ciancimino, Vice President of Airline Distribution, EMEA at Sabre Travel Solutions. “This partnership with TAP Air Portugal underscores our dedication to providing travel agents with the multi-source content they require through Sabre’s GDS, thereby enhancing travel experiences for their clients and improving operational efficiency.”

The agreement underscores the travel sector’s transition towards contemporary airline retailing and New Distribution Capability (NDC), enabling airlines to tailor their services more effectively and offer travelers enhanced personalized experiences. This renewed agreement reinforces the enduring partnership between Sabre and TAP Air Portugal.
