Hawaii Tourism Authority welcomed Dr. Aaron J. Salā as new President and CEO of the Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau, effective September 1.

Aaron brings extensive experience as a highly accomplished leader and cultural advisor, whose impactful, innovative work in Hawaii’s visitor industry and beyond has no bounds.

Most recently, he championed the unprecedented 13th Festival of Pacific Arts and Culture hosting our fellow Pacific Island delegations in June and served as the cultural creative producer for ‘Auana, Hawai‘i’s upcoming Cirque du Soleil residency.

He has worked as a music director and arranger for several Disney projects, including Aulani and the production of Moana in ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i. He also served as the director of cultural affairs at Royal Hawaiian Center at Helumoa.

No stranger to HTA, Aaron served on the Hawaii Tourism Authority‘s Board of Directors from 2011 to 2015 including a stint as Board Chair. HTA looks forward to working with him further in his new role.

Aaron’s steadfast commitment to Hawaii communities on each island will be vital in ensuring that visitors benefit Hawaii people, places and living cultures, supporting collective efforts toward Hawaii’s regenerative tourism future. As esteemed partner at the helm of HVCB, HTA wishes Aaron much success ahead.
