The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) held a ceremonial blessing and dedication for the newly expanded passenger waiting area at Kahului Airport (OGG).
This newly developed area, which accommodates Gates 1 to 15 in the southern concourse of the airport, was created by merging two existing waiting spaces, each approximately 6,000 square feet, and enclosing the previously open walkway that separated them. The outcome is a generous 17,000-square-foot, air-conditioned facility capable of seating 460 passengers. Additionally, a newly established garden deck offers an outdoor seating option for travelers at Kahului. Further enhancements include updates to the gate service counter areas, passenger loading bridge, and cargo ramp, along with improvements to the fire alarm, air conditioning, lighting, and flight information display systems.
