Finland’s flag carrier Finnair, a member of the oneworld alliance, has announced the appointment of Javier Roig Sanchez as the new General Manager for North America.
Roig Sanchez boasts an impressive career of nearly 30 years with the Finnish flag carrier, bringing extensive experience and expertise in the international aviation sector to his new position in the U.S. market.
He began his journey with Finnair in July 1995 as a Client Manager and has since accumulated significant experience, advancing through various Sales Director positions across multiple European markets.
Throughout his career, Roig Sanchez has undertaken numerous leadership roles, most recently serving as the Joint Business Sales Lead for the EMEA region, in addition to his responsibilities as Market Director for Central and Southern Europe.
Roig Sanchez succeeds Pasi Kuusisto, who has transitioned to the role of Area Vice President for Asia.
The Finnish airline presently provides direct flights from Finland, recognized as the World’s Happiest Country, to six cities in the United States: Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Miami, and Seattle.
