New service will complement Drukair’s current network of destinations, which includes Bangkok, Delhi, and Singapore, thereby enhancing both the airline’s and Bhutan’s international connectivity.

Beginning on October 28, 2024, Drukair – Royal Bhutan Airlines will initiate bi-weekly flights from Dubai to Paro, located in the Himalayan nation of Bhutan.

This new service will complement Drukair’s current network of destinations, which includes Bangkok, Delhi, and Singapore, thereby enhancing both the airline’s and Bhutan’s international connectivity. It will provide convenient travel options to Bhutan for passengers from North and South America, as well as from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Drukair flight #801 is scheduled to leave Dubai (DXB) every Tuesday and Saturday at 4:00 AM, arriving in Paro (PBH) at 10:30 AM. Conversely, Drukair flight #800 will depart Paro every Monday and Friday at 8:45 AM, reaching Dubai at 1:40 PM.

The introduction of services to Dubai marks a significant achievement for Drukair. “This development underscores our growing international footprint and our commitment to linking Bhutan with the global community,” stated Tandi Wangchuk, the Chief Executive Officer of Drukair.

The newly established route is anticipated to enhance tourism in Bhutan, drawing travelers from the Middle East and other regions through the well-frequented Dubai hub. Additionally, it will offer convenient travel alternatives for Bhutanese citizens and expatriates residing in the UAE and surrounding areas.

Drukair Corporation Limited, operating as Drukair — Royal Bhutan Airlines, is the flag carrier of the Kingdom of Bhutan, headquartered in the western dzongkhag of Paro. Drukair operates a modest scheduled flight network within the South Asian and Southeast Asian region from its base at Paro Airport and currently serves thirteen destinations in six countries. The airline also owns a small fleet of four Airbus A320 family jets, three A319 and one A320neo, one ATR 42 turboprop regional aircraft, and two A321XLRs on order.
