Since 2006, Hilal Demirel has been employed at Türkiye’s Department of Promotion within the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Hilal Demirel has been appointed to lead the New York offices of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism, taking over from Hüseyin Baştürk.

Mrs. Demirel, a native of Istanbul, earned her undergraduate degree in Economics in 2005, followed by a Master’s degree in Management Organization and Organizational Behavior, and a PhD in Business Administration, all from Hacettepe University.

Since 2006, she has been employed at Türkiye’s Department of Promotion within the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. From 2013 to 2019, she held the position of Cultural and Promotion Attaché in Zurich, and in 2019 and 2020, she briefly served as the Director of the Office of the Counsellor for Cultural Affairs and Promotion of Türkiye in Stockholm.

During her tenure in Switzerland, she was also tasked with overseeing promotional initiatives for Türkiye in Central European nations, including Austria, Hungary, and the Czech Republic.

In addition to her professional pursuits, Mrs. Demirel is an enthusiastic tennis player and enjoys reading Agatha Christie novels, acquiring new languages, and baking.
