SKY express commenced direct flights from Athens to Tirana, on October 14, providing service every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. This new route marks an expansion of SKY express’s enhanced network, with plans to introduce additional flights to Yerevan, Tbilisi, Istanbul, Prague, Vienna, and Amsterdam by early December. The airline now operates year-round services to 22 international destinations.

The flights from Athens to Tirana will utilize ATR 72-600 aircraft, which are well-suited for regional travel, boasting an average fleet age of only 2 years. SKY express’s modern fleet of 27 aircraft is the youngest in Greece and ranks among the most environmentally sustainable in Europe, ensuring a superior travel experience.

“Following a successful summer that solidified our presence in international markets, we are delighted to further expand our network. The new direct flight to Tirana, a European capital of strategic significance due to the strong connections between Greece and Albania, provides passengers from Albania with access to our extensive network of 33 destinations in Greece. Our objective is to continue offering reliable, high-quality, and cost-effective travel options, thereby enhancing the links between the two nations while contributing to the growth and international engagement of our country,” remarked Gerasimos Skaltsas, Chief Commercial Officer of SKY express.

Piervittorio Farabbi, Chief Operating Officer & Accountable Manager of Tirana International Airport, commented, “The introduction of SKY express at TIA reaffirms the appeal of Albania and Tirana. We are pleased that a rapidly growing airline, equipped with one of the youngest and most efficient aircraft fleets in Europe, has chosen to invest in TIA. SKY express will provide additional capacity to Athens and numerous destinations in Greece and beyond, which will undoubtedly attract our passengers.”
