VIA Rail Canada (VIA Rail) expresses its appreciation for the Government of Canada’s announcement regarding the appointment of Jonathan Goldbloom as Chairperson of the Board, effective April 12, 2025. Goldbloom will take over from Françoise Bertrand, who has provided exemplary leadership to VIA Rail since 2017.
Since his arrival on VIA Rail’s Board in 2017, Goldbloom has been instrumental in shaping the Corporation’s strategic vision, particularly in the advancement of the HFR Project (now referred to as Alto). He has ensured robust oversight and alignment in the pursuit of dedicated passenger rail tracks within the corridor. Furthermore, his leadership has enhanced VIA Rail’s relationships with stakeholders and fostered collaboration with government partners, thereby positioning the organization for sustained success.
