Kenya-based safari operator, Angama, has announced the appointment of Rosco Wendover as its new Group Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, 2024.
Rosco succeeds Nicky Fitzgerald, co-founder of Angama, who will continue to be involved with the company as a shareholder and board member.
Rosco brings extensive experience in remote management operations to his new role. Having grown up in rural Nigeria during the 1980s, he spent eight months working alongside soldiers from the Afghanistan National Army in the Helmand Valley in 2008. His career includes serving as general manager for luxury island hospitality operations in Madagascar, as well as experiences in the jungles of Belize and Brunei, managing a business in Uganda, and extensive travel throughout Asia. He identifies as a perpetually curious adventurer, always contemplating future possibilities.
Rosco and his family have a profound connection to Africa; both he and his wife have childhood ties to the continent, their son was raised in Madagascar, and their daughter in Uganda. He firmly believes that the world’s wild areas and their surrounding communities warrant our genuine and committed attention.
