Boeing 787-10 addition further solidifies Vietnam Airlines’ presence in the country’s aviation sector.

Vietnam Airlines recently received its fifth Boeing 787-10 aircraft, making it the 30th wide-body aircraft in the airline’s expanding fleet. This significant addition further solidifies Vietnam Airlines’ presence in the country’s aviation sector. The milestone was commemorated with a lavish celebration at Noi Bai International Airport.

The Boeing 787-10 is the largest variant within the Boeing 787 family, measuring over 68 meters in length. It boasts a commercial payload capacity ranging from 56 to 60 tons and can achieve a maximum range of nearly 12,000 kilometers. This aircraft is designed with a two-class layout, featuring 24 Business Class seats and 343 Economy Class seats.

Dang Anh Tuan, Executive Vice President of Vietnam Airlines, said: “Being the flag carrier of Vietnam, Vietnam Airlines is committed to upgrading and expanding our fleet. We aim not only to provide the highest levels of passenger comfort but also to fulfill our mission of connecting Vietnam with the world, therefore significantly supporting its economic and social development.”

The Boeing 787-10 boasts a range of technological advancements and modern amenities tailored to enhance the passenger experience. Highlights include spacious cabin; comfortable seats; large overhead bin and windows; modern entertainment system; adjustable LED lighting; lower cabin altitude; cleaner air; higher humidity; and improved temperature control.

The Business Class cabin of the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner has a staggered herringbone layout, with direct aisle access offering passengers a more private and comfortable space. It has fully convertible flat-bed seats, with a generous seat pitch and reclining seats up to 180 degrees which make it perfect for long-haul journeys. Passengers appreciate other convenient features namely personal entertainment devices with touch screens; an array of entertainment options; dimmable windows with five settings; reading lights; USB ports; and a spacious footrest and compartments.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner has outstanding operational and fuel efficiency. It is designed to be more environmentally friendly than previous generations of aircraft, with 25 per cent lower fuel consumption and emissions.

Vietnam Airlines currently operates nearly 100 aircraft, including five Boeing 787-10s; 11 Boeing 787-9s; and 14 Airbus A350s in its wide-body category.

The airline mainly deploys wide-body aircraft on flights to Northeast Asia, Europe, Australia, the United States, as well as between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The ongoing fleet expansion allows Vietnam Airlines to effectively accommodate passenger demand during peak periods, which is important given aircraft shortage following engines being recalled on a global scale.

Fleet modernization underscores Vietnam Airlines’ continued efforts to elevate passenger experience and meet international 5-star standards.
