The newly formed Board of Directors will include professionals from the private tourism sector, representing various areas such as accommodations, restaurants, transportation, and events.

The Honorable Cardigan Connor, Minister of Health, Sports and Tourism, has appointed Mrs. Amelia Vanterpool-Kubisch, the former Director of Tourism for the Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB), as the Chair of the ATB’s Board of Directors. Prior to the official announcement, Connor submitted his nominees for the ATB Board of Directors to Premier Cora Richardson-Hodge and the Executive Council for their approval.

The newly formed Board of Directors will include professionals from the private tourism sector, representing various areas such as accommodations, restaurants, transportation, and events. The board members are Merlyn Rogers, a tourism consultant; Merla Halley, General Manager of Quintessence Hotel; Sean Richards, General Manager of Altamer Resort; Miguel Leveret, General Manager of Blanchards; Likerah Adams, Chairperson of the Boat Racing Association; and Allister Carty, an executive specialist in ground transportation.

In his announcement, the Minister stated, “Amelia brings a vast amount of experience to her new position as Chairperson of the ATB. With her deep understanding of the organization and her extensive background in both the public and private sectors, she is exceptionally equipped to contribute to the advancement of Anguilla’s tourism industry.” He further expressed confidence in the newly appointed board, stating, “This dynamic team truly represents the full range of the industry and will provide strong leadership while maintaining the highest standards of accountability for the organization.”

Vanterpool-Kubisch began her career in Anguilla’s public tourism sector in 1978 as the inaugural employee of the newly formed Tourism Offices. The establishment of the Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB) in 1994 led to the development and inauguration of its permanent offices in April 2003, marking a significant milestone in the island’s tourism development. Over the years, Vanterpool-Kubisch progressed through various roles, ultimately retiring in 2008 after three decades of dedicated service, having served as the Director of Tourism for the ATB for 16 years.
