Najib Balala’s Criminal Case Dismissed – Former Kenya Tourism Minister Vindicated

The former Secretary of Tourism and Wildlife for the Republic of Kenya corruption case was dismissed. The longest-serving minister of tourism in Africa can take a deep breath after the case against him and his co-defendants in a $6000 corruption case for a “no incident” 14 years ago was dismissed.

A four-page ruling by the Chief Magistrate’s Court at Malindi, Kenya in EACC Case Number E001 of 2023 against the Hon. Najib Balala and 16 other codefendants was dismissed for lack of investigation, discovery in this politically motivated criminal case against one of the most respected tourism leaders in the world.

The order was signed today, July 31, 2024, by the Hon. James N Mwaniki, the Chief Magistrate of this Kenyan court.

“It has been a traumatic experience”, said Mr. Balala in an interview with eTurboNews today. “After serving my country as a government official with not a stain of any bad thing, this was a big trauma nightmare. As expected the prosecutor had no evidence, no case, and had to withdraw, and I am glad it’s over. There is nothing against me.”

Balala, who was also awarded the World Tourism Network Heroes title for his achievements during the COVID can take a deep breath again and start a new clean chapter in his life.

Mr. Balala is seen as a global leader not only in Kenya, but Africa gained from his knowledge of the tourism sector during the time he served, and through the many initiatives the former minister is currently involved in.
