Murder suicide in surfers paradise

Two people were confirmed dead Wednesday morning at a home that overlooks famous Waimea Bay, on the Northshore of the Hawaii island, Oahu. The Northshore is the scene for the TV series “Lost.”

A Honolulu Police Department officer told eTN they were investigating a murder suicide.

A third person was injured in the home invasion incident on Wednesday morning at this home located across the street from the Northshore Catholic Church. The parking lot across the street is used by many tourists visiting this famous Hawaii surf spot.

Neighbors, tourists and surfers heard 12 gun shots according to a witness talking to eTN.

According to an HPD police officer, the incident was not tourism related.

According to KITV, the victims are a 41-year-old man, believed to be the shooter, and his estranged wife, a 40-year-old woman.
A 43-year-old man who lives at the home suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

KITV stated that investigators believe the 41-year-old man forced his way into the house and shot the woman and himself with a semi-automatic weapon. The bodies were found in the garage around 9:00 am Wednesday morning.

Five HPD police cars were on the scene, investigating the murder suicide in paradise.
