Miami-Dade County made history by hosting the first official welcome event for international media attending the 25th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards at The Epic Hotel in downtown Miami

The reception was held to further solidify Miami’s position as a global hub for Latin music and culture. High-profile guests included David Whitaker, President of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Daniella Levine-Cava, Mayor of Miami-Dade County.

For its third straight year, Miami is the third city to host the Latin GRAMMYs, bringing it back full circle to an important responsibility in Latin music performance. Mayor Levine Cava says, “Miami is, of course, a major cultural hub, but one that has economic benefits to local businesses and workers.”.

Latin GRAMMY Week will also include Miami’s top venues-the Adrienne Arsht Center and the Kaseya Center-as venues to celebrate various events. Such venues reflect Miami’s capability to host world-class events. “American Airlines, our official airline for the Awards, stated that it is committed to the region, thereby continuing to play a similar role between Miami and Latin America.”.

Miami has an inherent relationship with Latin culture through its arts and music; therefore, the city would be a natural fit for the Latin GRAMMYs. Known for its multicultural creativity through events such as Art Basel and Wynwood’s street art scene, the city would provide the perfect backdrop for holding the Latin GRAMMYs and solidifying Miami’s position as a world leader in culture and music.
