Operating under Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture, the Saudi Music Commission is poised to host three remarkable performances featuring the Marvels of the Saudi Orchestra later this month.
The concerts will be held under auspices of His Highness Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, the Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Music Commission, on January 16, 17, and 18 at the King Fahad Cultural Centre in Riyadh.
The Music Commission has already successfully showcased the orchestra’s talents on renowned stages in five major global metrapolises – Paris, London, New York, Tokyo and Mexico City. Each of those concerts received widespread praise, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s cultural depth and artistic prowess on the global stage.

The Ministry of Culture was created on June 2, 2018, by Royal Order A/217, under the leadership of His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, the Kingdom’s first dedicated Minister of Culture. The Ministry is responsible for the Kingdom’s cultural scene on a local and international scale, and it is keen to preserve the Kingdom’s historical heritage while striving to build a prosperous cultural future in which various kinds of culture and arts flourish. The Ministry has a crucial role to play in delivering Saudi Arabia’s ambitious transformation program, Vision 2030. Its goal is to contribute to building a vibrant society, a thriving economy, and an ambitious nation. On March 27, 2019, the Ministry of Culture unveiled its vision and approaches that embody its mission and aspirations, as well as reflect its goals of promoting culture as a way of life, enabling culture to contribute to economic growth, and creating opportunities for global cultural exchange.
The upcoming performances in Riyadh are designed to farther enhance the Kingdom’s national cultural scene by providing audiences with an extraordinary musical encounter that merges tradition with modernity. The Saudi National Orchestra and Choir continue to represent Saudi Arabia’s aspiration to promote cross-cultural dialogue through the all-inclusive medium of music.
Concertgoers can look forward to an engaging selection of traditional Saudi music and songs, re-imagined through orchestral arrangements and performed by Kingdom’s exceptionally talented musicians. This event will not only mark a significant cultural achievement but also exemplify Saudi Arabia’s dedication to fostering the arts and supporting local talent.
