“It is extremely gratifying to be recognized once again by the readers of Travel + Leisure,” said Hon. Edmund Bartlett, Minister of Tourism, Jamaica. “With almost three million visitors arriving on our shores this year to date, our tourism product remains strong, and we owe that to our incredible partners who work diligently to offer amenities, experiences and warm hospitality that appeal to every type of traveler.”
In addition to Jamaica appearing on the ballot in the ‘Islands’ category, close to 50 Jamaican hotels are also featured, including all-inclusive resorts like Couples (multiples properties), Sandals (multiple properties) and Secrets (multiple properties) as well as boutique properties like Rockhouse Hotel & Spa in Negril, Jake’s Hotel in Treasure Beach, Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios, and Round Hill Hotel and Villas in Montego Bay. Jackie’s on the Reef in Negril also appears on the ballot for the ‘Destination Spa’ category while the Norman Manley International Airport (KIN) and Sangster International Airport (MBJ) appear in the ‘Airports’ category.
“We are very appreciative of these accolades.”
Donovan White, Director of Tourism, Jamaica, added: “In addition to our ongoing collaboration with our destination partners, we have continued making efforts to improve our airlift and overall airport arrival and departure experiences. We are very proud to see the results of our hard work in the spotlight for one of the travel industry’s leading readers’ choice awards.”
