Dr. Peter Tarlow has been involved in training tourism police in Mexico.
Over the last few months, Dr. Peter Tarlow, president of World Tourism Network (WTN), has been working with the state of Zacatecas’ “Pueblos Mágicos” (magical towns) in Mexico. Yesterday, Dr. Tarlow visited the city of Sombrerete.
Sombrerete is a beautiful town in Zacateca’s mountainous region. It is known for its fantastic food, cultural, religious, and historical heritage, caring people, and vibrant and active city center, where children play and families gather to hear traditional Mariachi music.
Sombrerete Historic Center, situated in Zacatecas, Mexico, is an enchanting spot renowned for its colonial architecture, cultural legacy, and breathtaking scenery. This town seamlessly blends history with contemporary allure, boasting cobblestone streets, well-maintained structures, and significant landmarks that depict tales of fortitude, success, and creativity.

Over the last few days, Tarlow has visited Sombrerete to find new ways to promote this city.
More than 26 Hollywood movies, including The Frisco Kid, were shot.
Many of the activities that the World Tourism Network, in cooperation with Travel Marketing Network and Tourism and More, does are to help destinations become safer.

The tourism police will help to prepare Sombrerete for its next economic boom and become an active tool in the city’s economic development.
World Tourism Network is a global network of tourism destinations and their stakeholders in 133 countries. Within their network, interest groups are involved in a wide variety of activities, helping to make tourism a better and more profitable business by building safer destinations, their stakeholders, and their small and medium-sized businesses.
Training law enforcement to understand different cultures will make them friendlier and more appreciated and result in an enormous economic impact for safe and welcoming destinations.
Dr. Tarlow has been working with Zacatecas to make it a happy and safe place since 2021. The World Tourism Network started in 2020. More information can be found at www.wtn.travel
