Since the commencement of their collaboration in 2022, Hong Kong Airlines and Chu Kong Passenger Transport have offered passengers seamless sea-to-air and air-to-sea intermodal codeshare services. This successful venture has streamlined travel processes and greatly improved the overall passenger journey.
Today, Hong Kong Airlines is launching an upgraded version of the “Leisure Pass” to provide more travel options for passengers. This enhancement will link the Hong Kong International Airport with seven major ferry ports and one cross-border control point in the Greater Bay Area, including Shenzhen Shekou, Shenzhen Fuyong (Shenzhen Airport), Guangzhou Lianhuashan, Guangzhou Nansha, Zhongshan, Dongguan Humen, and the Zhuhai Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB). Passengers can now conveniently book air, ferry, and bus tickets in one go through the Hong Kong Airlines website and designated travel agents in Mainland China, ensuring smooth access between the Greater Bay Area and Hong Kong Airlines’ destinations.
The “Leisure Pass” codeshare service extends across the entire Greater Bay Area, connecting the Hong Kong International Airport and facilitating efficient transfers for cross-border travelers. This service provides rapid and convenient connections for sea-to-air, air-to-sea, bridge-to-air, and air-to-bridge travel. It significantly reduces travel time, with ferry rides taking under two hours between the designated ports and the SkyPier at Hong Kong International Airport. Additionally, the recently included HZMB Zhuhai Port enhances the flexibility of land border crossing options.
Leisure Pass holders are not required to pay the Hong Kong International Airport Air Passenger Departure Tax (APDT) and are eligible for one-stop check-in and baggage check-through services at their departing ferry or land ports in the Greater Bay Area before boarding the high-speed ferries or cross-border buses to Hong Kong International Airport’s SkyPier. Subsequently, they can directly board Hong Kong Airlines flights and proceed to their final destinations without the need for additional immigration and customs clearances, or check-in procedures at the airport terminal.
Hong Kong Airlines is dedicated to improving its services and elevating the overall passenger journey. The introduction of the “Leisure Pass” codeshare service not only streamlines travel for corporate travelers, but also entices a greater number of passengers from the Greater Bay Area and beyond to utilize Hong Kong International Airport as a connecting hub.
