The prestigious global MMA event signifies the UFC’s return to Macau after a ten-year hiatus, positioning it as a significant sporting event for both Macau and Greater China this year.

Galaxy Macau announced a new partnership with the UFC, the leading organization in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) worldwide.

This collaboration will culminate in the hosting of UFC Fight Night Macau on November 23, 2024, at the Galaxy Arena, a newly inaugurated cultural and entertainment venue in Macau.

This prestigious global MMA event signifies the UFC‘s return to Macau after a ten-year hiatus, positioning it as a significant sporting event for both Macau and Greater China this year.

Kevin Kelley, the Chief Operating Officer of Galaxy Entertainment Group in Macau, and Kevin Chang, the Senior Vice President and Head of Asia for UFC, convened at the Galaxy International Convention Center to officially sign the agreement for the event and to reveal the date and venue for UFC FIGHT NIGHT MACAU. This partnership, themed “Tourism + Sports,” seeks to bolster Macau’s image as a “City of Sports,” drawing sports fans globally to this premier travel destination.

Kevin Kelley expressed his enthusiasm for the return of the UFC event to Macau after a decade, emphasizing its significance as a prestigious enhancement to Galaxy Macau’s expanding array of international sports events, which also features the ITTF Men’s and Women’s World Cup Macao 2024 and The Women’s Volleyball Nations League 2024 Macao. The advanced facilities and services of the Galaxy Arena, along with Galaxy Macau’s commitment to a “World Class, Asian Heart” service philosophy, are set to enhance the excitement of the event and contribute to the advancement of sports in Macau.

Since its entry into Asia in 2010, Macau has established itself as a prominent location for the UFC. The city hosted three Fight Nights in 2012 and 2014. This forthcoming event signifies the UFC’s return to Greater China after a four-year hiatus.

Kevin Chang conveyed his enthusiasm, remarking, “We are thrilled to return to this remarkable destination city. Our last UFC event here took place a decade ago in 2014, and in the intervening years, our brand has experienced significant growth. We are honored to collaborate with Galaxy Macau and eagerly anticipate delivering an exhilarating show at the state-of-the-art Galaxy Arena for the enjoyment of fans throughout the region.”

Galaxy Macau has been a proactive supporter, participant, and organizer of numerous sports events and activities that align with the development strategy of the Macao SAR Government. The collaboration between Galaxy Arena and UFC holds considerable importance, especially with the Greater Bay Area set to co-host the 2025 National Games. Galaxy Macau seeks to highlight Macau’s distinctive geographical advantages, abundant tourism resources, and vibrant sports culture to the visiting audience, thereby fostering the integrated growth of sports and tourism in the region.
