Working from home is available to almost any professional.

The only condition is that your occupation must involve intellectual rather than physical labor. Even ordinary consultants, personnel consultants, or lawyers can completely refuse to go to the office and have flexible hours remote jobs.

The Difference of Remote Work

Remote work involves interacting with your employer and clients via the Internet. You can communicate using special software, Skype, messengers, or emails. Sometimes a remote desktop is used – that is, you get all the necessary programs/files at once and become “part” of the overall system.

Remote work and freelancing have several major differences. In the first case, the employee has a permanent employer; in the second case, there may be several employers, and in bad periods, there may not be any at all. In addition, freelancers are usually not offered an employment contract, at most – an offer.

Directions for Remote Work

Before you find a remote job, assess your skills and strengths, and prepare proof of your competence (examples of work, certificates, diplomas, and other documents).

To try to earn from a home can:

  • sales managers, online consultants, and operators;
  • translators and teachers;
  • programmers;
  • proofreaders, editors, and authors themselves;
  • artists, illustrators;
  • designers and layout designers.

The professions listed above are now popular. You can find jobs on the Jobgether website and check with employers for specific projects and tasks.

The Subtleties of Working From Home

Remote work has a lot of nuances. Knowing about them in advance, you will not encounter unpleasant “surprises” during the work process.

So, here’s what you should do:

  • Protect yourself and your finances – let’s start with the most important topic – unscrupulous clients. You can avoid this by signing a contract and don’t be shy to ask questions and clarify terms.
  • Increase your productivity – if your activity is quite monotonous and takes a lot of time, you can quickly burn out, and each subsequent day will become a real torture.

Increase your motivation with small rewards for yourself, and rest. Make a plan for n day and also do not distribute too difficult for the last moment:

  • Don’t forget to rest – this was already in the previous point. Work in another city or country, have a nice time traveling but don’t forget about earning income. Your first few trips from the money you earn remotely will boost your continued motivation.
  • Create your dream workplace – working remotely at home will suit those who can provide a quiet and comfortable environment. A co-working room, library, or coffee shop is also a good option if there is a small footfall.
  • Choose a comfortable schedule – most often the load is about 40 hours a week, sometimes 20-30. When choosing a company from another region or even country, consider the time zone and schedule of both colleagues and clients.
  • Take care of your tools – your main tool is a laptop or PC. The rest of your equipment depends on your line of work.

Some companies even provide computers; at other firms, you have to buy all the gadgets yourself. As a rule, it is also the employer’s job to access and purchase the software.

It is up to you to decide whether to stay in such a remote occupation or to continue to spend your days in the office. The most important thing: is to ensure personal comfort and receive only positive emotions from your work.
