While the former PM’s plane was flying over Varanasi in the central Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, it was tracked by 29,000 people simultaneously.

According to the Flightradar24 service, the aircraft transporting the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, yesterday from eastern India to New Delhi was the most monitored flight globally in real time ever.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh has abruptly abandoned her post following widespread anti-government demonstrations and subsequently fled to India.

Her aircraft arrived at Hindon Airport, an Indian Air Force facility situated in Ghaziabad, approximately 40 kilometers from New Delhi.

On Monday afternoon, while her plane was flying over Varanasi in the central Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, it garnered the attention of 29,000 Flightradar24 users simultaneously.

In response to the developments in the neighboring nation, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for a meeting at his residence to discuss the situation.

The meeting included Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India.

There is no indication that Sheikh Hasina attended the meeting. It was reported that upon her arrival in India, she was escorted to a secure location with the help of Indian security personnel.
