Five victims sustained injuries in a knife attack that took place on Sint Nicolaasstraat, close to Dam Square.

According to local law enforcement, at least five people were wounded in a stabbing attack in central Amsterdam, Netherlands, today.

Local police reported that five victims sustained injuries in a knife attack that took place on Sint Nicolaasstraat, close to Dam Square, and the suspect has been apprehended.

The reasons behind the attack remain unclear, and an investigation is currently underway.

Videos shared online depict several ambulances at the location, along with a medevac helicopter landing in the square. Police have also established a cordoned-off area at the scene.

The police have urged the public to submit any footage related to the attack, providing an online link for individuals to share information that may serve as evidence.
