Surinam Airways operates flights between Paramaribo and major Caribbean and European cities like Miami, Amsterdam, and Georgetown six times a week.

Surinam Airways has selected Euroairlines Group to oversee the distribution of its entire route network.

A partnership agreement has been formalized between the two entities, enabling Surinam Airways to tap into an extensive network of travel agencies, online travel agencies (OTAs), aggregators, and consolidators across more than 50 countries, facilitated by Euroairlines Group’s IATA Q4-291 designation.

This collaboration not only enhances Surinam Airways‘ visibility in the global market but also solidifies Euroairlines Group’s position as a premier distribution company within the Caribbean region.

Surinam Airways operates flights between Paramaribo and major Caribbean and European cities like Miami, Amsterdam, and Georgetown six times a week. Additionally, the airline provides five weekly flights to Georgetown. Surinam Airways also offers less frequent routes to Aruba, Barbados, Curacao, and Belem.

The corporation was established in Paramaribo, Suriname, in 1962 with the objective of linking the capital city to the second largest city, Moengo, by air. Subsequently, it expanded its operations to international flights through a partnership agreement with various airlines. The range of services offered by the company encompasses regular flights, chartered flights, and transportation of cargo such as live animals, hazardous materials, and refrigerated goods. Presently, it is under the ownership of the government and serves as the official national airline.

Antonio López-Lázaro, CEO of Euroairlines, and Guillermo López-Lázaro, Markets, Channels & Cargo Managing Director, have assessed the agreement as indicative of the company’s rapid expansion. “We take great pride in this partnership with Surinam Airways, as it enhances our foothold in the aviation distribution industry in the Caribbean,” Antonio López-Lázaro elaborates. “Our collaborator has a strong presence in the area, and it is inevitable that it will achieve global consolidation with the support of our extensive network of sales representatives,” Guillermo López-Lázaro further comments.

Captain Steven Gonesh, the Chief Executive Officer of Surinam Airways, emphasizes that this deal represents a major achievement in their endeavor to broaden their network and provide passengers with additional travel choices. He states, “Through our partnership with Euroairlines, we are not only improving connectivity but also guaranteeing that our clients have smooth travel experiences with increased convenience and luxury.” Gonesh expresses, “We are eager to reap the rewards of this collaboration and are enthusiastic about the prospects that await both of our organizations.”
