EU gives EUR 215M to Bulgaria for tourism development

Bulgaria is to receive EUR 215 M for tourism development under the Regional Development operative programme of the European Union, director of the National Tourism Board (NTB), Poly Karastoyanova, announced on Wednesday.

Bulgaria is to receive EUR 215 M for tourism development under the Regional Development operative programme of the European Union, director of the National Tourism Board (NTB), Poly Karastoyanova, announced on Wednesday.

NTB and the National Association of Municipalities in Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB) signed Wednesday an agreement aiming at the correct and timely absorption of the financing provided by the EU funds.

The first projects in the framework of the programme will be approved within a month, as part of the financing will be used on infrastructure development, officials said at the event.

Implementation of approved projects is expected to start in April.
