Skal members from more then 50 countries attended the traditional Skal luncheon, which was hosted by Skal International Berlin in connection with ITB, which just completed its final day on the fairgrounds of Messe Berlin (May 11-15).

President Hulya Aslantas addressed the guests at the luncheon on the importance of the Skal network and the solidarity among its members, particularly in these uncertain times. She commented further that reduction in prices need not always be the solution but recommended members to improve their products and come up with innovations through networking with Skal members worldwide. Skal International today has approximately 22,000 members in 480 clubs throughout 89 nations.

As part of the luncheon, Ms. Aslantas presented her banner and gift to the President of Skal International Berlin Christian Wiesenhรผtter, as well as to Thomas Steinmetz, publisher of eTurboNews, and thanked them for their kind invitation and ongoing commitment to Skal.

The President of Skal International Hungary George Paldi reminded those in attendance about the 70th World Congress that will take place in Budapest from November 1-6, 2009 and said he expected at least 150 participants from Germany. Special fares have been organized by Malev from all European hubs. For more information on the 70th Skal World Congress 2009, go to http://www.skal.org/congresos/Budapest09/budapest09.asp?idioma=I.
