Ethiopian Airlines Group announced its collaboration with the United States (US) Transport Security Administration (TSA) PreCheck program.
Ethiopian Airlines’ customers departing from the USA can enjoy an enhanced air travel experience through a more efficient, secure, and convenient security screening process. They are allowed to leave their shoes, belts, and light jackets on, as well as keep their laptops and 3-1-1 liquids in their bags while using the designated TSA PreCheck screening lanes.
The 3-1-1 liquids regulation permits passengers to carry liquids, gels, and aerosols in containers of 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters each. These containers must be placed in a single quart-sized bag, with one bag allowed per traveler. This regulation simplifies the security procedure and facilitates a faster passage through airport checkpoints.
Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew stated that the partnership signifies a major achievement in the airline’s 25-year track record of serving the United States, aiming to improve the travel journey for passengers by streamlining security procedures. Tasew emphasized that joining the TSA PreCheck program goes beyond mere convenience, showcasing the company’s commitment to delivering top-notch travel services.
Utilizing TSA PreCheck allows travelers to experience efficient security procedures and accelerated screening. This enables our passengers to better manage their time and take advantage of a safe air travel environment. TSA PreCheck participants typically wait for less than 10 minutes in specialized lanes at airports across the country.
Ethiopian Airlines has introduced an expedited service for its customers departing from five major locations in the United States: Atlanta, Chicago, Newark, New York, and Washington. U.S. citizens, U.S. Nationals, and lawful permanent residents are encouraged to take advantage of the TSA PreCheck Application Program by enrolling through one of the three authorized providers designated by the TSA.
