The inaugural edition of the Egypt International Airshow commenced on Tuesday at a northern airport within the nation, featuring aerial displays by the air forces of Egypt, China, and several other nations.

The airshow was officially opened by Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi and is set to take place from Tuesday through Thursday at El Alamein International Airport in El Dabaa, Matrouh Governorate, as reported by Egyptian state television.

The inaugural day of the airshow commenced with a flight demonstration by the Silver Stars of the Egyptian Air Force. Additionally, air forces from China, the United States, France, Italy, the Czech Republic, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye, and India showcased their aerial performances, featuring a solo exhibition of the Y-20, China’s indigenous large transport aircraft.

The official website of the airshow states that the event’s objective is to “promote industrialization, digitalization, and globalization within the defense, space, and commercial aviation industries in Africa and the Middle East.” In addition to aerial displays, the event includes exhibitions showcasing cutting-edge products and services related to these sectors.

Egypt International Airshow is being held on 3-5 September 2024 at El Alamein International Airport.

Spearheaded by the Egyptian Ministry of Defense, Egyptian Air Force, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Egyptian Space Agency, and EgyptAir, the event aims to accelerate industrialization, digitalization, and globalization in the defense, space, and commercial aviation sectors in Africa and the Middle East.

The show features aircraft displays and an exhibition of innovative aerospace products and services.
