Voepass Flight 2283, a large passenger plane with 62 people on board just crashed in Vinhedo, Brazil. The crash was captured on video.

Voepass 2Z 2283 operating an ATR ATR-72 plane on Friday within the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo crashed, seen by hundreds of people walking the streets of Vinhedo town. Several witnesses caught the crash on their phone videos.

The ATR-72, a twin-turbo passenger plane had 4 crew and 58 passengers onboard when it was seen losing control and crashed while flying over the city of Vinhedo. There were no survivors.

Voepass was recognized by AirlineRatings.com in 2014 as the safest airline in Brazil alongside Avianca. The carrier is seen as one of the world’s safest and most reliable airlines.

Sao Paulo’s state fire department confirmed on social media that a plane crashed in Vinhedo. Responders have seven crews on the scene of the crash.

Voepass Linhas Aéreas was rebranded from Passaredo Linhas Aéreas and it’s an airline based in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, Brazil. The airline also owns a subsidiary airline in Brazil called MAP Linhas Aéreas. It’s based at the Dr. Leite Lopes–Ribeirão Preto State Airport in Ribeirão Preto.

Voepass operates to Barreiras, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Campo Grande, Campos dos Goytacazes, Cascavel, Cuiabá, Curitiba, Dourados, Eirunepé, Foz do Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and many more. Flights are operated by the fleet of ATR42 and ATR72 that the airline operates. Some of the flights are operated by Gol Airlines.

Voepass was established in 1995, went on a temporary hiatus from 2002 to 2004, and later formed a partnership with Gol Airlines to operate flights from 2010 to 2014 and again from 2017 onwards. In 2014, Voepass received recognition from AirlineRatings.com as one of the safest airlines in Brazil, alongside Avianca.

Vinhedo, a municipality located in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, is a part of the Metropolitan Region of Campinas. In 2020, Vinhedo had a population of 80,111 residing in an area of 81.60 km2 (31.51 sq mi), resulting in a population density of 777 inhabitants per square kilometer. With an elevation of 777 m (2,549 ft), Vinhedo is 96% urbanized and was established in 1949.
