According to the accommodation booking data for the 2024 Chinese Golden Week holiday period, a peak travel season when most Chinese people enjoy an average of seven days off, China’s outbound travel is experiencing a swift resurgence, with significant growth in hotel bookings for international trips.
During the Golden Week holiday, which spans from October 1 to October 7 and is a popular time for Chinese travelers, hotel reservations increased dramatically across various regions compared to the previous year: a rise of 190% in the Americas, 78% in Europe, 77% in the Asia-Pacific region, and 106% in the Middle East.
The average duration of hotel stays for international travelers has remained consistent at approximately two nights, aligning with trends observed prior to the pandemic. While Average Daily Rates (ADR) have seen a slight uptick in the Middle East, they have experienced a minor decline in other regions relative to last year.
