The Saint Lucia Hospitality and Tourism Association (SLHTA) is deeply saddened by the passing of Lorine Charles-St.Jules. She was a dedicated and invaluable contributor to Saint Lucia’s tourism and hospitality industry.

Charles-St. Jules’ stellar career spanned over two decades. She worked with the Ministry of Tourism, the Saint Lucia Tourist Board, and the Anguilla Tourist Board. She was the founder and CEO of the marketing and consultancy firm PEAYE7 Marketing International and also guided future hospitality professionals as an Adjunct Lecturer.

Most recently, she adeptly led the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority as Chief Executive Officer from 2022 to 2024. During this time, she also served as an SLHTA Director, offering guidance and steadfast support to the Association.

Acting SLHTA President Erwin Louisy said: “On behalf of the Board of Directors, Management, and Staff of the SLHTA, I wish to extend my sincere condolences to Lorine’s family, friends, and the entire tourism fraternity. Lorine was a trailblazer in our industry, driving the advancement of Caribbean tourism with unwavering passion and commitment. I worked alongside her during her long and outstanding career, including her tenure on the SLHTA Board. I will always remember her wisdom, commitment, infectious optimism, and warm, welcoming smile. Saint Lucia has indeed lost a beautiful soul. May she rest in peace.”

Kelly Fontenelle of Saint Lucia Tourism said:

This hasn’t fully registered for me, and I may never do so. The news has come as a shock to many, and we are all heartbroken over the loss of this remarkable person. I recall my days in NYC, where Lorine would have me partying until the wee hours. When one party wrapped up at 2 AM, she was always eager to head to the next one. Whenever I staggered home around 5 AM, my mom could tell I had been out with Lorine. Those were truly treasured times. My heartfelt condolences go out to Cecil and the Charles family. May she rest in peace. Please give my regards to my mom; we know you’ll celebrate up there. Gone too soon.
