Cayman Islands winter flights relaunched

The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism (CIDOT) is thrilled to welcome back Minnesota-based Sun Country Airlines this December for the relaunch of nonstop winter flights from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to Owen Roberts International Airport (ORIA) on Grand Cayman. Service begins December 17, 2022, with flights operating once a week, departing on Saturdays. Travelers can book now though mid-April 2023.

“With consumers’ current urge to travel, this is the perfect time to bring Minnesotans back to the Cayman Islands on Sun Country Airlines as we know how much they like to escape the cold to a beautiful tropical beach,” said Cayman Islands Department of Tourism US General Manager, Tom Ludington. “We look forward to the relaunch of winter flights to the Cayman Islands and are eager to accommodate returning guests and first-time visitors to our beautiful corner of the Caribbean.”

“We’re excited to offer travelers service to the beautiful Cayman Islands,” said Grant Whitney, Sun Country Airlines Chief Revenue Officer. “This is a popular Caribbean destination in the winter months for our customers and we appreciate the hospitality and partnership from the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism. With service to Grand Cayman, Sun Country offers nonstop service from MSP to 14 international destinations throughout the Caribbean, Latin America and Mexico.”

Sun Country Airlines operates 98 routes serving 78 airports across the United States, Mexico, Central America, Canada and the Caribbean, providing safe, reliable, hassle-free flights at affordable prices. Sun Country offers warm and friendly service and a customer experience that includes free in-flight entertainment, complimentary non-alcoholic beverage service, a new mobile-friendly website with more self-service tools, and new interiors on each aircraft.
