Top Global Cities for a Best Value One-Night Break

Just in time for ITB Berlin, the largest travel and tourism trade show in the world, Berlin released its latest tourism arrival numbers.

In 2024, 12.7 million guests came to Berlin, Germany, 5.2% more than in the previous year. The number of overnight stays also rose by 3.4% to 30.6 million.

This reached 2015 and fell below the level before the coronavirus pandemic. The number of guests was 8.9% below the result of 2019. 10.3% fewer overnight stays were registered.

4.7 million guests traveled to the German Capital from abroad, with 12.8 million overnight stays.

They stayed for 2.7 days, increasing the number of foreign visitors by 10.4%. Guests were predominantly from other European countries (3.4 million, +10.8%). The top performers among all countries were visitors from the United Kingdom, with 1.4 million overnight stays, followed by the United States, with 1.3 million.

The 8 million domestic guests stayed in Berlin for an average of 2.2 days, with 17.8 million overnight stays. Their arrivals increased by 2.4% compared to the previous year.
