For those planning a getaway to Barbados, access to the Caribbean Island has gotten even easier. Both JetBlue and American Airlines are expanding service to Barbados, responding to increased travel demand with additional flights. This means travelers will have even more options to get to Barbados as soon as possible.
For late summer travel, American Airlines will be adding an additional daily flight, servicing Miami, Florida (MIA-BGI) from August 15 to September 5, 2023. Currently American Airlines has twice daily service from MIA to BGI, therefore this additional flight will increase Miami to three times daily.
Similarly, US travelers can expect to see daily flights via American Airlines from Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT to BGI) resume from December 21, just in time for the holidays. This is a significant increase from the current weekly service from CLT to BGI, and will continue until April 3, with the exception of Tuesdays and Wednesdays from January 8 to March 4.
“We’re extremely excited to expand the airlift servicing our US market for 2023 and going into 2024,” stated Eusi Skeete, [US Director, Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI)]. “We understand that demand for the destination is very high and we’ve been working closely with our longstanding airline partners to meet this demand.”

This is truly a win for Barbados, our partners, and of course, travelers,” added Skeete.
JetBlue has also extended its second daily flight from New York (JFK-BGI), through September and October. The popular redeye flight was previously slated to end at the beginning of September but will now continue through to October.
“We are continuously identifying growth opportunities to expand airlift across the US market and are quite optimistic for the prospect of increased service, particularly as demand for travel to Barbados remains high,” stated Skeete. “We will continue to work closely with our airline partners to create even more travel opportunities as we expand across the US.”
