Ascend Airways UK has announced the incorporation of a Boeing 737 MAX 8 into its fleet. This development enhances the airline’s competitive stance within the UK market and aligns with its strategic growth objectives as it ventures into counter-cyclical markets across Europe.
The plane was produced in 2017 and joined the fleet in December 2024. It is designed with 189 all-economy seats; however, it will also offer a two-class configuration that includes 12 business class seats and 150 economy seats.
The aircraft was subleased from SmartLynx, a subsidiary of Avia Solutions Group.
Ascend Airways UK currently has two aircraft in its fleet: a Boeing 737-800 and a Boeing 737 MAX 8. The airline intends to enhance its fleet by adding three more aircraft in the first quarter of 2025, with the goal of operating a total of six aircraft by the summer of 2025.
