Qatar’s Years of Culture initiative has designated the Argentine Republic and the Republic of Chile as its partner countries for the year 2025. These two nations have been significantly influenced by Arab heritage through centuries of migration and cultural interaction, as well as a mutual passion for sports. The partnerships in 2025 will highlight shared cultural elements, ranging from cuisine to language, while fostering new collaborations in the initiative’s primary areas of focus: cultural preservation, creative industries, social development, and innovation.
This annual global exchange was established 13 years ago by Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, with the aim of enhancing connections between Qatar and other countries through enduring cultural partnerships based on mutual respect and understanding. This year’s programs will include a variety of activities such as performances, exhibitions, sporting and culinary events, photography projects, residency programs, volunteer opportunities, and more.
