Anguilla Tourism Director Named Vice Chair at CTO

The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) announced that the Director of Tourism for the Anguilla Tourist Board, Stacey A. Liburd, has been elected as the new Vice Chair representative for the British Overseas Territories on the Executive Committee.

The announcement was made following the CTO’s Annual General Meeting, held during the State of the Tourism Industry Conference on September 3, 2024. Mrs. Liburd will serve a 2-year term, from September 2024 to 2026, in this role.

As Vice Chair, Mrs. Liburd’s role is not solitary. She will work in collaboration with the newly elected Chairman, the Honorable Ian Gooding-Edghill, and Andrea Franklin, Chairperson for the Board of Directors, and other members of the Executive Committee and Allied Board of Directors. Together, they will assist the CTO to help shape and advance the tourism strategy for the Caribbean region. Their collective efforts will ensure that the Caribbean’s unique tourism offerings remain competitive on the global stage.

I am deeply committed to promoting our unique tourism experiences and working collaboratively with my fellow members to drive regional growth and sustainability,” Liburd said, adding:

The CTO, an organization of 25 member countries and territories, has been instrumental in promoting the sustainable development of the Caribbean tourism sector, a mission that has significantly impacted the region. The election of the new executive team marks a key moment for the organization as it continues to steer the Caribbean toward increased growth and international recognition.
