Award-winning river cruise line AMAWATERWAYS is proud to make its seventh consecutive appearance at World Travel Market (WTM), the ideal venue for highlighting the line’s continued successes. From the Mekong River in southeast Asia, where AMAWATERWAYS has just launched its much-anticipated “Vietnam, Cambodia and the Riches of the Mekong” program, to the legendary waterways of Europe, AMAWATERWAYS leads the industry with bold innovations and unparalleled product offerings.

“This past year has been extremely successful for AMAWATERWAYS, and we look forward to another productive experience here amongst our fellow international travel professionals at World Travel Market, said AMAWATERWAYS executive vice president and co-owner, Kristin Karst.

In Europe, AMAWATERWAYS has expanded its luxurious collection of owned and operated vessels to six, with the introduction of the newly-constructed MS Amalyra and MS Amadolce in the spring of 2009. The 148-passenger vessels join an illustrious fleet that also includes MS Amacello (2008), MS Amadante (2008), MS Amalegro (2007), and MS Amadagio (2006). The MS Amabella is scheduled to debut in 2010.

The AMAWATERWAYS ships in Europe feature a warm, upscale décor, plus an unparalleled array of amenities and complimentary services, such as: spacious, 170-square foot standard cabins and 225-square foot junior suites, featuring French Balconies; plush bedding with down duvets; marble appointed bathrooms; spa-quality bath amenities; terry robes and slippers; and flat-screen TVs offering in-room “Infotainment” with complimentary Internet access. Gourmet meals in the restaurant are included in each cruise and are accompanied by carefully-selected complimentary local wines and specialty coffees. The vessels feature a spa, fitness center, beauty salon, Aft Lounge with complimentary Wi-Fi, a whirlpool, walking track on the Sun Deck, and a fleet of bicycles for passenger use. An AMAWATERWAYS elite cruise director accompanies guests throughout the cruise. Expert local guides conduct complimentary tours for guests at each destination.

In addition to its core fleet of ships based in Europe offering river cruise vacations on the Danube, Rhine, Main, and Mosel rivers, AMAWATERWAYS offers destination cruises to the breathtaking Douro River Valley in Portugal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; a Provencal sojourn on the romantic Rhone river in France; and an exhilarating journey through the legendary waterways of Russia.

In southeast Asia, AMAWATERWAYS has introduced its new “Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Riches of the Mekong” program to great acclaim. The exclusive 15-day itinerary highlights the region’s historical and cultural riches, ancient ways of life, and traditions. The program features 2 nights in Vietnam’s bustling capital of Hanoi, famous for its graceful colonial architecture, verdant parks, tranquil lakes and ancient temples; an overnight cruise onboard a luxurious traditional Junk in Vietnam’s Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its spectacular limestone cliffs; and 3 nights in Siem Reap, Cambodia, gateway to the Angkor Archeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the legendary Angkor Wat. The centerpiece of “Vietnam, Cambodia and the Riches of the Mekong” is an unforgettable 7-night cruise on the Mekong river aboard the luxurious new 92-passenger MS La Marguerite, the most deluxe vessel in the region. An overnight in historic Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam, completes this exclusive new program. Also available is an optional 8-day Central Vietnam pre-extension and an optional 4-day Hong Kong post-extension.
