Aircalin, the international airline of the South Pacific French territory of New Caledonia, has announced an order placed with Airbus for two long-range A350-900 passenger jets. This acquisition will give a boost to the airline’s fleet modernization and support the expansion of its long-haul network.
At present, the airline’s widebody fleet consists of two A330neo aircraft. Aircalin intends to configure its A350s in a three-class premium arrangement, accommodating over 320 passengers. This configuration will feature an enhanced business class and will result in a 15% increase in capacity compared to the A330neo.
The A350 is recognized as the most advanced and efficient widebody aircraft in the 300-410 seat category globally.
