According to the officials at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport, a passenger aircraft operated by Air India, traveling from India to the United Kingdom, made an unscheduled landing in Moscow today as a result of some unspecified “technical issues.”
Air India Boeing 787-800 jet traveling from New Delhi to Birmingham successfully landed in Russia’s capital, ensuring the safety of all 258 passengers and 17 crew members, with no reported injuries. The flight was originally scheduled to depart at 2135 Moscow time (1835 GMT).
Two months ago, in July 2024, an Air India flight en route from New Delhi to San Francisco has executed an emergency landing in Russia’s Siberia region following the crew’s identification of a possible problem in the cargo hold, as reported by the airline.
That emergency landing marked the second occurrence of such an incident on that route within a span of just over a year.
